DITA

A brief introduction to Darwin Information Typing Architecture

Content Reuse

DITA allows for pieces of content to be reused in DITA topics and maps through using the @conref, @conkeyref, and related attributes. By being able to reuse chunks of content, technical communicators can avoid having to rewrite exisiting content by pulling in the referenced content.

How Does Content Reuse Work?

The @conref, @conkeyref, @conrefend, etc. attributes either pull content to the referencing element or push content from the referencing element. In other words, these attributes move the content (referenced element) to the place in the topic or map the referencing element was.
